The God of all Grace
by Dan Therrien
According to 1
Peter 5:10 God is referred to as "The God of all grace."
In II Cor. 9:8 we read, "God is able to make
all grace abound toward you, that ye always having all sufficiency in
all things, may abound to every good work." We are to be steadfast,
unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord." (1 Cor. 15:58) It
goes on to say that our labor is not in vain.
Every saved person is saved by grace through
faith and that not of yourselves, the gift of God, not of works, lest
any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ unto
good works. (Eph. 8-10)
Anyone who says there is no God
is only fooling themselves because God's saving grace that is available
to all men "hath appeared to all men." (Titus 2:11) Inwardly, all men
know the truth when they hear it. All it takes is an open heart to
receive the truth.
From His (Christ's) abundance we have ALL received one gracious blessing
after another. (John 1:16 NLT) No matter what we've done
in the past, when we ask forgiveness of our sins and receive Christ as
our Lord and Savior we are under grace and "have redemption through His blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of God's grace." (1Eph 6&7)
The unbeliever who rejects Christ before leaving this world has chosen
so under their own free will and thus chosen eternal damnation and will be
eternally separated from God in hell. (John 3:16-19)
Through Christ, believers are blessed with all spiritual blessings in
the heavenlies (Eph 1:3) That means no lack of grace, no lack of
blessings. All things are possible. Grace is God's unmerited favor.
Grace is God doing good for us we don't deserve. It can be defined as
God's good sufficiency or the fullness of God in the life of the
believer. "For my strength is made perfect in weakness. (2 Cor.
12:9) In our weakness and lack God has the greatest freedom to work, to
be strong for us and through us to accomplish through us what we cannot.
God is enabled and empowered in our weaknesses and lacks. Then it is to
His glory not ours. When walking and continually seeking God's will,
not depending upon our own knowledge, wisdom and strength but His,
wonderous things are free to happen and mountains in life are moved.
With real relationship/partnership with God anything God asks us to do
can and will be done smoothly and perfectly as "God is able to make all
grace abound toward you; that ye always having all sufficiency in all
things may abound to every good work." (2 Cor. 9:8) Not only are we
saved by God's grace through Christ but it is by this grace that
we are changed from the inside out (hearts softened, renewed into a
spirit lead person of faith and lives totally new and clean but by his
grade the Holy Spirit gives us the ability and strength to live good or
Godly lives from glory to glory, one step at a time. It is the grace
of God which offers a glorious eternal life and supplies us by the
spirit to daily seek God and walk in his ways forgiven, free and
faithfully lead by God's goodness, love and mercy.

Significance of God's Grace
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under
the law but under GRACE. Romans 6:11-14
Grace is our weapon against sin. Just before giving into
addiction (sin) ask yourself, "Is God's grace sufficient or not? "No
matter how many times you give in keep asking yourself the same question. When
you get upset enough with your sin having power over you perhaps you'll get
desperate enough to break through and receive from the Holy Spirit the power
that is behind the promise "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is
made perfect in weakness. 2 Cor 12:9 For not on what we can do in our own
strength but on what Christ can do through us despite our shortcomings due to
illness, distress, etc.
By faith we agree with God's word that God's grace is
available and sufficient and what releases God's overcoming power in us to
conquer our weaknesses.
To allow God's grace to be released and overcome our
addiction/sin, we must will it to happen and make up our mind that God's grace
is totally sufficient.
2 Cor
9:8 And God is able to
bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that
you need, you
will abound in every good work.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made
perfect in weakness." 2 Cor 12:9
